Small distributor for mounting control unit and power supply unit
The LED control unit and the 12 V, as well as 24 V power supply units are mounted on a DIN rail in the control cabinet, or small distribution board. This rail is already pre-assembled in the Hager small distribution boards from our store. So the control unit, the power supply unit and possible accessories of the staircase lighting, like the astro time relay, can be installed directly in it. We offer the small distributors in a surface-mounted as well as a flush-mounted version in three different sizes. For most staircase lighting systems the 2-row distributor is the right choice - for staircase lighting systems with many accessories we also offer 3-row distributors. Optional twilight and presence sensor
The optional accessories for the SEQUA staircase lighting include both the Twilight sensor, optionally with a Panel for switch boxes, and especially for the control unit Professional: the Presence sensor. The twilight sensor is always practical as an accessory for control when the staircase is sufficiently brightly illuminated during daylight that staircase lighting is not required. In the case of basement stairs, on the other hand, the twilight sensor can be dispensed with, since here the staircase lighting is required even in daylight.
With the help of the twilight sensor, the SEQUA control unit detects the brightness and can switch to the energy-saving stand-by mode in daylight. In this way, the gradual automatic, and if activated, the entrance and ambient lighting are switched off. This helps to avoid unnecessary lighting and save energy. As an accessory for SEQUA twilight sensor, we also offer an optional installation cover for mounting the sensor on 60 mm switch boxes.
An exciting accessory for people walking at different speeds is the SEQUA presence detector. This keeps the staircase lighting active as long as people are on the stairs. To prevent the staircase lighting from being switched on unnecessarily as people pass by, the presence detector can only keep the light on, but not activate it itself. Even with presence detectors installed, the staircase lighting is switched on by the motion sensors at the beginning and end of the staircase.
The secret tip: Industrial adhesive tape
Our accessory recommendation for staircase lighting with LED strips: The industrial adhesive tape. This is extremely adhesive, sticks immediately without waiting time and can also be easily removed without a trace if necessary. In addition, it can be used very sparingly: Just 20 to 30 cm of adhesive tape per meter of aluminum profile guarantees a secure hold on smooth surfaces such as wood, or granite.
