High quality LED strips and aluminum profiles for staircase lighting
Whether cantilever stairs, concrete stairs or classic wooden stairs: LED strips are made for staircase lighting. Discreetly from the bottom of the steps, the LED strip illuminates the tread pleasantly and across the entire width of the staircase. Thus, lighting with LED strips not only improves the safety of the staircase, but also gives it a modern appearance. Our guide "Lighting different types of stairs" gives an overview of the various options for step lighting with LED strips.
Completely invisible when switched off, step lighting with LED strips creates a particularly stunning lighting effect. The uniform illumination of the steps over the entire width also provides a plus in safety. For this purpose, the strips are applied under the stair treads or recessed in a cutout. Our special aluminum profiles help protect the strips from damage and allow the light to be optimally distributed. These aluminum profiles also serve to cool the LED strips, which has a positive effect on the life of the LEDs.
Our LED strips (available in 80 to 140 cm, divisible every 5 cm) are ideally designed for staircase lighting with the already assembled 100 cm connection cable. In addition to the best-selling version with 60 LEDs/m, we now also offer the version with a full 120 LEDs/m. This produces an even more uniform light. This produces an even more uniform light and thus a particularly attractive appearance.

Glare-free staircase lighting with LED strips
When it comes to staircase lighting, choosing the right LED strip is essential. Too bright strips can easily dazzle unpleasantly at night, which is why the right dimensioning of the power of the LEDs for staircase lighting is important. At SEQUA, you will therefore only find LED strips in optimal brightness for staircase lighting. Our Guidebook article "Lighting stairs pleasantly and without glare" shows how to do it right and avoid common mistakes in staircase lighting.
For staircase lighting with LED strips, SEQUA offers you two different LED strip variants, both of which have the optimal brightness for staircase lighting with 4.8 W power. While the classic LED strip with 60 LEDs per meter remains the right choice for many applications, the new SEQUA LED strip with a full 120 LEDs per meter provides even more uniform illumination of the step. Thanks to identical brightness without blinding. In our Advisor article "60 or 120 LEDs per meter" we show the differences between the two types in detail.
With glare-free LED strips, even open stairs can be optimally illuminated and convince with an aesthetic shadow play under the stairs. For this purpose, the LED strips are embedded in matching aluminum profiles in a groove under the tread. This not only protects the strip from damage: The PMMA cover of the LED aluminum profile also helps to distribute the light in a pleasantly diffuse manner and prevents a direct view of the LED strip through the open staircase. Tip: Buy the staircase lighting with LED strips in a complete set with the matching aluminum profile and benefit from our low set prices.
Step lighting with LED strips in different light colors
We offer our LED strips in different light colors. The warm white LED strips with 2700 to 3000K are our best-selling variant, resemble the light of incandescent lamps and provide an atmospheric, warm atmosphere. LED strips with a color temperature of about 4000 Kelvin emit neutral white light, creating a particularly clear illumination of the stair treads. The third variant are the cold white light strips, which with a color temperature of about 6000 to 6500 Kelvin emit a particularly bright light, similar in color to natural daylight at midday. In our Guide article "The right light color for your staircase lighting" we show the different light colors of our LED strips in comparison.
We can also offer you suitable products for colored (RGB) step lighting with RGBW strips. Our Advice article "Staircase lighting with RGB(W) LEDs" gives an overview of the necessary components for RGB stair lighting.
You have the choice: Switching classically by light switch, by Smarthome, or with step-by-step, sensor-controlled automation
The classic way of controlling a staircase lighting is switching the LED strips via a light switch. In addition to the one-switch solution, a two-way switch with a second switch at the end of the staircase is also possible. In this case, the LED strips are connected directly to the power supply and switched on and off manually as required. This solution is mainly suitable when converting existing lighting to modern LED technology. Besides the light strips themselves, all you need is a suitable power supply unit and our Connection cable set for parallel connection of LED strips.
More convenient than switching on and off by hand is the extension of this classic circuit with a smart home connection. With the help of our Zigbee connector, you can integrate the LED strips into your smarthome and control your staircase lighting intelligently. Whether via app, via Alexa, via Philips hue, or another Zigbee system: the possibilities are almost limitless. In our Guide "Staircase lighting in home automation" we show you many exciting solutions for integrating LED stair lighting into your smarthome.
For special comfort and spectacular optics, the SEQUA LED control unit is the first choice. It switches on the LED strips of your staircase lighting automatically and contactless by sensor. While the LED strips are completely invisible when switched off, your staircase is activated "out of nowhere" strip by strip - the amazement of all visitors is guaranteed! With the help of our configurator, all the necessary components can be put together within minutes, no matter which control solution you choose.
