Maximum performance and the greatest possible customizability: The excellent Professional series of our automatic staircase lighting for demanding projects and diverse applications.

  • Presence detector connection for an optimally flowing lighting effect
  • Numerous configuration options, including adjustable brightness levels
  • Homely atmosphere thanks to 4K dimmer and extended ambient lighting also of the steps
  • Additional contacts for optimal integration into home automation systems

Tip: Putting together the right components is now even easier: Use our new staircase lighting configurator to do so.

Highlights of the Professional control unit:

Step ambient lighting

Ambient lighting (staircase lighting)

Create a special atmosphere in the evening and let your stair treads shine lightly illuminated. The automatic chaser remains active, in contrast to the continuous light function. A contact on the control unit can be used to switch the staircase lighting on (in the evening) and off (at night).

 Video for stair ambient lighting

Integration into home automation

The LED control unit can be easily integrated into your home automation system: Switch on the stair lighting via your smart home, activate the ambient lighting, or deactivate the sensor-controlled automatic system. Existing presence detectors can also be easily connected.

Adjustable brightness

Restrict with the adjustment option too bright LED spotlights in the luminosity, or let all steps permanently - slightly dimmed as an orientation light - shine.

The brightness of the step lighting, as well as the entrance and ambient lighting, can be varied separately and switched off via a contact on the control unit.

Presence detector connection

An additional presence detector can be connected to the Professional control unit to keep the staircase lighting activated as long as people are present in the staircase area.

This enables an optimally flowing lighting effect without unnecessarily long switch-off delays and without the risk of standing in the dark.

4K dimmer

For a particularly natural switching on and off of the LED lighting, the Professional dimming module controls the LEDs not only in the finest gradations (4000, instead of 250), but also in a switch-on curve specially adapted for the human eye.

Dimmability can be deactivated

Deactivating the dimming function of the control unit allows the operation of non-dimmable light sources. When activated, the LED outputs of the control unit switch "on" and "off" without gradations. Relays can also be optimally controlled via this mode.

Extended sensor calibration

The switchable, extended sensor calibration suppresses disturbing influences of all kinds, such as direct incidence of light or reflective surfaces in the sensor area even more reliably. Also ideal for double staircase ascents and descents where the lighting effect is to be triggered in one direction only.

Functions of the Advanced and Professional control units:

Entrance lighting

When this function is activated, the first and last steps are permanently dimmed (brightness levels can be set on the Professional control unit). Visually highlighted in this way, this creates a plus in safety and a basic illumination of your staircase that is pleasant to the eye.

 Video on step lighting

Quick start

With the switchable Quick Start function, the first steps are activated at increased speed when you enter the staircase, so that the steps in front of you are immediately illuminated. Optically trimmed to perfection, this acceleration takes place very unobtrusively and depending on the set switch-on speed.

Video about the quick start function

20 LED outputs - expandable

With the 20 LED outputs of the control unit you can illuminate long old stairs without any problems. Reference value: A staircase in a new building usually has 14 to 16 steps, stairs in an old building often have a few steps more. Not an ordinary staircase? No problem! With an additional module, you can also illuminate stairs with up to 26 steps.

Powerful

The increased switching capacity of 500 mA per LED output allows you to completely illuminate even very wide stairs with LED strips. For long-lasting and safe use, all LED outputs are separately equipped with a fuse.

Automatic sensor type detection

The motion sensors included in the set are the optimal solution in most installation situations. The new sensor type detection additionally enables to operate awide variety of sensors such as PIR motion detectors, light barriers, or door contacts and sets the control unit to these fully automatically.

Removable terminals

Removable screw terminals allow convenient screw connection of the LED supply cables with a cross-section of up to 1.5 mm2, detached from the control unit. During conversion work, the cables can also be removed from the control unit without having to unscrew the cable glands or mix up the cables in the sequence.

Functions available on all control units:

Running light

The visual highlight of all SEQUA LED control units: Softly dimmed, gradual switching on of the staircase lighting. When the staircase is used by two people, the light runs towards each other to particular effect and switches off again starting from the center. The running light effect can be deactivated on all control units.

Video about the running light function

Ambient lighting (wall/ceiling/handrail)

The LED outputs (up to four) that are not used for step lighting can be used for atmospheric ambient lighting of the staircase at : Optimal for LED strips in the handrail, or spotlights in the ceiling. The slightly switched on lighting activates simultaneously and completely when the stairs are stepped on.

More about the ambient lighting function

Permanent light

Permanent light? Gladly! On all control units there is a connection for an external switch, which activates all connected LEDs softly dimmed. The permanent light can also be switched on even if the LED controller is in standby mode. The use of a toggle switch is also possible.

Video about the permanent light function

Twilight sensor

By connecting a twilight sensor, which deactivates the automatic control during daylight, a demand-oriented and energy-saving switching is ensured.

In addition to the sensor-controlled automatic system, the approach lighting and the ambient lighting are also switched off in standby mode.

Speed / time delay

You can adjust the switch-on and switch-off speed of the step lighting, as well as the  time delay between the switch-on and switch-off process, entirely according to your wishes at the control units.

Sophisticated: Every time you step on the stairs again, the time delay is restarted, so that the light always stays on long enough for people following you

Climate-neutral operation

With the help of the renowned company "ClimatePartner", we offset - already since 2016 - the CO² emissions generated by the standby power consumption of the LED control unit - during continuous operation and over the complete warranty period of the control unit. Specifically, we have chosen to support the "Forest Conservation" project in Santa Maria, Brazil.

 SEQUA stands for sustainability

Soft-ON / Soft-OFF

The Soft-ON/Soft-OFF switching ("dimmer") of all control units ensures particularly smooth transitions when switching the lighting on and off. Flicker-free and without harsh switching processes, this always guarantees a pleasant light.

Universal input

You have the free choice: Whether 10 V LED spotlight, 12 V spot, or 24 V LED strip - our LED control units work together with all common LED light sources without being dependent on a specific operating voltage.

The original from the inventor

The SEQUA LED controllers were specially developed in Germany and are manufactured entirely in Germany - and have been for over 10 years. The result: High quality "Made in Germany" you can rely on.

10 years SEQUA - About us

5 years warranty copy-2x

5 years manufacturer warranty

As an expression of confidence in the quality of our products, we grant a five-year manufacturer's warranty on all SEQUA LED control units. A good supply of spare parts and the reparability of our control units in case of need are a matter of course for us.

 Warranty conditions

The Professional control unit offers you the greatest possible range of functions and maximum performance in the field of our intelligent staircase lighting systems.

You can adapt the animated staircase lighting to your individual wishes via numerous setting options: In addition to the switchable "approach lighting" and the "quick start" function, the Professional control unit also has separate controls for adjusting the LED brightnesses: You can use this to limit the luminosity of LED strips that are too bright (min. 70%), or leave the LEDs on permanently, as an orientation light, slightly dimmed (max. 30%).  Via the switch contact of the extended ambient lighting, an orientation light created in this way can be switched on and off as desired. In case of absence or late at night, this saves additional energy. However, the sensor-controlled automatic system remains active.

For a particularly natural switching on and off of the gradual LED lighting, the Professional dimming module controls the LEDs not only in the finest gradations, but also in a switch-on curve specially adapted for the human eye. But the operation of non-dimmable illuminants is also easily possible with the integrated "NO-DIMM" function. With the 20 LED outputs of the controller, you can easily illuminate long old staircases. The large switching capacity (500 mA) per output also enables the illumination of very wide, or spiral staircases with LED strips. For long-lasting and safe operation, numerous protective circuits are integrated in the device, such as reverse polarity protection, as well as short-circuit and overload protection.

Another highlight of the Professional control is the possibility to connect an additional motion detector (presence detector), which ensures that the staircase lighting remains activated as long as people are present in the staircase area. This enables an optimal flowing light effect without unnecessary long switch-off delay and without the risk of standing in the dark. In our store, we offer you a presence detector that is ideally matched both visually and technically.

Optimized for installation in smart home environments, all common home automation systems can be easily connected to our Professional control unit via their relay outputs: Thus, use central brightness sensors, existing presence detectors, or light switches of your home automation also for your gradual staircase lighting. The standardized terminal block housing allows the professional installation directly in house distributions and small distributors.
